Excursions with experienced guides in Lima
Experience Lima Like a Local
Lima is the largest city in Peru, where, along with the high-rises, you can see the ancient archaeological complex, the clay pyramid and the underground world of the city. The city is located on the coast of the Pacific Ocean.
The main sight of the city is the historic centre of Lima, which is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
The central square of the city is Plaza Mayor. Here you can see the Archbishop's Palace, Cathedral of Lima and City Hall.
Saint Francis complex is a must-see. The complex in Baroque style consists of a church, chapels, monastery and catacombs. This is where the famous painting “The Last Supper" by the artist Diego de la Puente is kept.
The tour of the city includes visits to interesting museums:
- Larco Museum — is an archaeological and historical museum. It contains exhibits from various historical periods.
- Gold Museum. It displays artifacts from the pre-Inca civilisations and mummies of rulers.
- Huaca Huallamarca — is a reconstructed clay pyramid, which dates from the 3rd and 4th centuries.
The tour guide will take you to the Parque de la Reserva with the fountain complex, recognized as the largest in the world and listed in the Guinness Book of Records.
In your spare time you can take a walk in the Parque del Amor on the Lima promenade, which was opened on Valentine's Day in 1993 or along the ocean coast.
