To get an idea of why Georgia has so many things to offer, let's take a look at its geography:

  • Georgia is located in the Caucasus region of Eurasia.
  • It's bordered by Russia to its north, Turkey and Armenia to its west, Azerbaijan to its east and Iran to its south.
  • The country covers an area of 69,700 square miles (180,000 square kilometers).

Kutaisi

Located in western Georgia, Kutaisi is the second largest city in the country and serves as the capital of its autonomous province. The city sits on the Rioni River and has a population of about 140,000 people.

The history of Kutaisi begins with its foundation by King David IV (1089-1125) who established it as his capital. It became an important trade center along ancient trade routes connecting Europe with Asia Minor and Persia; today these routes are known as Black Sea Routes or Silk Roads.

Batumi

Batumi is a city in southwest Georgia, on the coast of the Black Sea. It's Georgia's second largest city after the capital Tbilisi, and it's also home to one of Europe's largest ports. Batumi has been an important crossroads for trade between Europe and Asia since ancient times; now it boasts some beautiful beaches and a cosmopolitan vibe that makes it well worth visiting if you're traveling through this part of Eastern Europe!

Batumi is located on the coast of the Black Sea, about 100 kilometers west of Turkey's border. It's a popular tourist destination for people from all over the world, thanks to its beautiful beaches and relaxed atmosphere. Batumi is also famous for hosting many major events like concerts and sporting competitions! Batumi has a population of around 200,000 people, but it swells in the summer months when tourists flock to its beaches. The city is also home to a large Turkish minority and has been closely connected with Turkey since the 19th century when both countries were part of the Ottoman Empire.

Mtskheta

Mtskheta is the historic capital of Georgia and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The town is home to the Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, which is one of Georgia's most important pilgrimage sites and has been since its construction in 1010 AD. It's also considered one of the oldest cathedrals in Eastern Europe, as well as being an important part of history: it was here that Christianity became established as an official religion in Georgia after being introduced by Saint Nino (known locally as Nina).

Mtskheta's location along the banks of River Mtkvari makes it easy to explore on foot or via boat; from there you can visit nearby attractions like Khakhuli Church or Didube Market (which offers fresh fruits, vegetables and herbs).

The city is also home to several museums, including the State Museum of Georgia and Mtskheta Archaeological Museum. It's also worth noting that Mtskheta is only around an hour away from Tbilisi by car or public transport, making it an ideal day trip.

Tbilisi

Tbilisi is the capital of Georgia and has a population of 1.1 million people. It has a humid subtropical climate with mild winters and hot summers. Tbilisi's history dates back to at least the 5th century BC when it was founded by King Vakhtang I Gorgasali as "Tbilisi" (meaning warm).

It's known as one of the oldest cities in Eastern Europe, having been continuously inhabited since then until today. Today, Tbilisi is still considered to be one of the most important cultural centers in Eastern Europe due to its rich history that can be seen throughout its architecture and culture.

Georgia is a beautiful country to explore. There are many things to do and see, so you won't run out of things to do any time soon. If you're looking for an adventure, we highly recommend visiting Georgia!
