The prototype of the Disney castle — Neuschwanstein

Neuschwanstein Castle is called the fairy-tale palace of Ludwig II or a romantic castle, the literal translation sounds like a New Swan Stone (swan rock).
Indeed, being next to him, you feel like a fairy-tale hero. The castle of an unusual color, surrounded by lakes, seems to hang over the magnificent Alpine spruce thickets and it seems that it is very far from the existing reality. The Sleeping Beauty Castle (Disneyland, Paris) was created in his likeness, Tchaikovsky painted Swan Lake, inspired by its view. No wonder it has earned great popularity among tourists.

Location and history of occurrence
This famous tourist destination in Europe is located in the vicinity of the city of Fussen, which belongs to Bavaria.
Since Ludwig was in awe of culture and various types of art, there is an opinion that the castle was built under the impression of the work of Richard Wagner. It is known that Ludwig was an adherent of everything fabulous and conceived the construction of the castle, identifying himself with Wagner's swan king.
The atmosphere of the castle is literally imbued with the spirit of his operas. One of its floors is occupied by the hall of singers, which is decorated with their characters.

During the life of the founder of the castle, fourteen rooms of the castle were completely decorated. All of them have a rich decoration that has a fabulous orientation. Ludwig, at the time of the construction of the castle, almost completely moved away from real events and plunged into the world of fairy tales. The castle became a kind of obsession for him, in which he dreamed of hiding from the harsh reality. Therefore, he did not spare money for its construction.

The best architects, finishers, sculptors and artists were involved in the process. It took more than four years of painstaking work for the craftsmen to make the wooden carved king's bed alone.

The external splendor of the architectural buildings and the internal richness of the decoration still amaze. The whole castle gives the impression of a chic theatrical scenery.
It has three hundred and sixty halls decorated with gold, luxury items and, of course, all kinds of swans.
But, having an appearance and interior that are far from modernity, the entire device of the lock was made using the latest technologies of that time (for example, a water supply system, automatic flushes and air heating, an alarm system and a telephone).
On the territory of the castle there is an artificial cave located in a beautiful garden. It is assumed that during the Second World War, the Neuschwanstein castle was a repository of gold reserves that disappeared without a trace.

While building the castle, the king completely departed from the performance of his duties, spent most of the treasury on its construction, was declared insane by the council of psychiatrists, isolated in Berg Castle, where he died on the shore of Lake Starnberg under mysterious circumstances. The reasons for his death remained unclear.
It is said that Ludwig considered the castle his personal refuge and bequeathed to demolish the castle after his death. But this did not happen, and for more than a hundred years people from all over the world have been coming to Bavaria to admire this wonderful architectural work, shrouded in secrets and legends.
