Where to go in Dagestan in summer
There are several well-known resorts in the republic that are gaining popularity every year:
- Izberbash;
- Makhachkala;
- Kaspiysk;
- Inche;
- Derbent.
Izberbash is suitable for unassuming tourists who do not need an abundance of restaurants and wide streets. It is calm and not crowded here.
Makhachkala is the heart of Dagestan. Life is in full swing here. There are many beaches, parks and squares in the city. There are many cafes and restaurants in the city center, where everyone will find a dish to their taste and wallet.
Kaspiysk is located not far from Makhachkala, but there are slightly less entertainment and beaches. But there is a large water park where you can have fun with the whole family.
Inche is a small village famous for its cleanest beaches and cozy recreation centers.
Derbent is suitable for history buffs. It is here that the famous Naryn-Kala fortress is located.
How to dress in a Muslim republic
There are no strict rules for tourists. There is no need to swim in clothes. You can wear an open-top swimsuit, but do not remove your bra. Save your topless tan for Turkey and other loyal resorts.
If you go on an excursion to the Dagestan villages, then you should choose more closed clothes. This rule applies not only to women, but also to men. The older generation can make a comment because of the short shorts.
It is not customary to walk around the city in one swimsuit and a pareo. This will not cause resentment on the Black Sea coast, and this is not welcome here.
If you want to walk around the city in short shorts and tops, then wait for the close attention of local men. Their women don't dress like that.
