How to spend leisure time in Germany
Human life is multifaceted. We work, relax, travel, get carried away. I happened to live in Germany for some time, where you can spend your leisure time in an exciting and informative way.
1. Leisure in the city.
Wherever you are, the first thing to do is to visit the center of the locality in which you are. The central part of the city is a historical center where architectural monuments have been preserved. Most of them are free to visit. You can walk around the courtyard of the old castle, look inside the defensive structure, walk along the old streets.
The cathedrals of Germany belong to the monuments of architecture: the picturesque stained glass windows and majestic vaults will leave an indelible impression.
Cozy cafes and restaurants are located here and there on the streets of the old town. Germans really like to sit on the terrace of a cafe with a cup of coffee or a glass of beer, for lunch or dinner. You will see large crowded areas filled with small tables, where lively conversations are held. It's hard to pass by and not sit down at an empty table. Food and drinks in cafes and restaurants will delight you. They know how to cook delicious food here. The most visited place in any city is a cinema. Families, groups of friends, couples and singly go there. The age of the audience: from young children to elderly couples.
Baskets with brochures of movie announcements for the coming week are placed on the windows of the Cinema House. An integral attribute of viewing remains "popcorn" and carbonated drinks, without which they do not enter the hall. They are sold in the cinema building at very unprofitable prices, but you can't bring them with you. Tickets in Berlin and other cities can be booked in advance here.
An entertaining part of the culture of the German people are sculptures and monuments. Each of them causes ambiguous emotions. They are radically different from the sculptural sculptures of the south of Europe. It's hard to put it into words; here are a few photos.
You can see such sculptural works all over the city. All of them seem to be made by the hand of one master.
2. Outdoor recreation.
In the warm season, people go out for walks and outdoor recreation. There are many lakes in the vicinity of small settlements and in the park areas of large cities, where you can sunbathe, swim, make kebabs. There are swings for children. The coastal areas of the lakes are landscaped for recreation for every taste. It's always clean. If the lake is far away, you can sit on the lawn in the park. Golf courses are available in the surrounding area for golf lovers. In the south of Germany, you can see riders on horseback.
Boat trips along the water channels are available at any time of the year. On warm, fine days, such places become crowded.
Conclusion. And of course, the nightlife! Here it is practically nothing special: nightclubs and discos, bright lights and loud music, cocktails and dancing. Nightlife is a zone of mostly young people. People of all ages spend their leisure time in Germany in an interesting way. Here you can see young couples and people of deeply advanced age. It is difficult to say which of them is more.
