Attractions in the Philippines

The popularity of the Philippines is growing with every tourist season. And this is quite understandable, because no matter what company and purpose you are going there, whether it's a vacation with family or with friends, you will always have something to do here. It may sound strange, but for tourists the first (and for the vast majority the only) problem is the problem of choice, or in another way the question arises of where to start? 

But I assure you that you will soon find the answer to this question, because there are a huge number of different architectural monuments and natural beauties in the Philippines, which will allow you to choose what you want to see.

Most of the monuments are associated with the Spaniards. This is due to the fact that it was the Spaniards who dominated here for almost 4 centuries.
Luzon Island is famous for the fact that the capital of the Philippines is located here - the famous city of Manila. But even the fact that this city has the status of the capital does not make tourists stay here for a long time, this is due to the fact that all the main historical attractions were destroyed by US aircraft during World War II.

Manila is a kind of community of the center and other 17 satellite cities and there is something to see in each of them, but tourists usually do not stay here for more than 2 days. Cebu Island and the city with the same name located on it are more interesting for tourists. It is the oldest city in the Philippines. Everything here is literally steeped in history. Visit the Church of St. Augustine (in the city center), the grave and cross of Magellan, the Taoist Temple. Lovers of ancient religions should visit the island of Mindanao.

A huge number of ethnic groups professing Islam are concentrated here. There are a large number of Islamic mosques scattered throughout the island, distinguished by their respective architecture. It is also worth mentioning about natural attractions, for example, on the island of Palawan there is a unique underground river, which is listed in, no less, the list of the main attractions of the earth! Banaue rice terraces are mandatory for all travelers to visit. 

This natural monument was created about 2000 years ago, but the most interesting thing about it is that locals still work on it. It is especially worth highlighting some events that tourists will be interested to see:

3. Balloon Festival.
