Trip to Geneva

Geneva has a long history. This is a very old city in the southeast of the Swiss state. In 2014, the city was awarded the title of the best place to live. The percentage of foreigners is almost half of the total population of the city.

Lake Geneva is an unspoken border with France. In 2009, this beautiful city of Switzerland earned the 4th place in the ranking of very expensive cities in every sense.

Sights

The most memorable place in the attractive Geneva is the water, escaping 140 meters and enclosed in a chic Jet d'Eau fountain. It is located right in the middle of the majestic lake that bathes the heart of the city. The best view of it is from the Bains des Paquis pier, which becomes a beach in the summer. In winter, there are places for visiting public baths, leaving which you can plunge into the freezing water of the lake.

The city has a Protestant St. Peter's Cathedral, which is an example of the uniqueness of the Genevan architectural activity. This temple was built for about 100 years. It was created from several houses with an equal number of roofs. Each building has its own individual style in architecture. Climbing the stairs to the roof of this cathedral, you can see the majestic panorama of the entire city.

The Palais des Nations is attractive for its Classicism style and a large number of national attractions.

And the Ariana Museum will allow you to see unique expositions of ceramics and glass from the most ancient times to recent times.

Also worth a visit is the English Garden, where you can find a huge flower clock, created as a sign of respect for the Swiss watchmakers, and the Botanical Garden with a varied number of flowering plants, which number about 14,000 species.

You can admire the glass house "Clarte", or take a walk in the beautiful Champel district. Many recommend seeing examples of cultural heritage at the Petit Palais Museum of Modern Art and enjoying the exhibits at the Red Cross Museum

And in the large market, which opens only on Wednesday and Saturday, you can buy wonderful souvenirs, as well as antique furniture, antiques and much more.

Geneva is able to conquer every tourist and guest with its attractiveness. In the quiet and measured life of local residents lies the tranquility of life. If the trip to this city has a business reason, try to stay in it for two more days.

The city will conquer even the most sophisticated traveler.
