Guatemala is a country of mountains, rainforest and volcanoes. It's amazing to see the landscape change as you travel from city to city. Antigua Guatemala has cobbled streets like Europe, while Guatemala City is modern and bustling. There are beautiful lakes and volcanoes everywhere you look in this country!

Antigua Guatemala

Antigua Guatemala is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It's located in the mountains, and it's a cozy colonial city with authentic stunning hotels. It has a thriving art scene that you should take advantage of while you're there!

Guatemala City

Guatemala City is the capital of Guatemala, located in the Valley of Guatemala. The city sits at an elevation of 2,300 meters (7,500 feet) above sea level and is surrounded by volcanoes on all sides except for one side where it connects with Peten province. Guatemala City has a subtropical highland climate with mild temperatures year-round (between 15C-25C). Although it can get quite cold during winter months (December - February), most people do not need to worry about packing warm clothes unless you want to trek up one of those volcanoes! 

Panajachel

Panajachel is a small town in the Guatemalan Highlands, located on Lake Atitlan. The town has become famous for its beautiful views of the lake and surrounding volcanoes. It's also one of Guatemala's most popular tourist destinations, attracting visitors from around the world who come here to enjoy Panajachel's relaxing atmosphere and take advantage of its many activities.

Puerto Quetzal

Puerto Quetzal is a port city on the Pacific Ocean, located just south of Guatemala City. It's a popular tourist destination and is well known for its beaches, but there's also plenty to do here if you're looking for something more active than sunbathing. You can rent surfboards or kayaks at several places along Playa Barra del Colorado beach; enjoy horseback riding through lush forests; explore nearby caves filled with stalactites and stalagmites; go zip lining over the rainforest canopy; visit a butterfly farm (there are many in this area); go bird watching in Tikal National Park...the list goes on!

There are many ways to get around in Puerto Quetzal: by foot or bicycle through town; by taxi or bus out into surrounding villages; even via boat across Lake Atitlan where you'll see beautiful views from above while enjoying dinner aboard one of three restaurants that offer tours around their boats.

San Juan La Laguna

San Juan La Laguna is a village in the Solola department of Guatemala. It is also known as San Juan La Laguna and San Juan La Laguna Iximche. The town is located at an altitude of 2,100 meters (6,900 ft). The name "San Juan" comes from its patron saint who was born on June 23rd (Saint John's day). The local people have preserved their traditions, customs and beliefs over time thanks to their isolation from other regions of Guatemala where they could be influenced by other cultures or religions.

San Pedro La Laguna

San Pedro La Laguna is a small town in the department of Sololá, located on Lake Atitlán. It's one of the most beautiful lakes in the world and a popular tourist destination.

Santa Cruz La Laguna

Santa Cruz La Laguna is a beautiful town, with plenty to see and do. The town is surrounded by mountains, so there are great views from every side. There are also several lakes in the area that you can visit as well as some volcanoes nearby. There are many small shops where you can buy souvenirs or delicious food! If you want to relax after being out exploring all day, there are several restaurants where you can sit down for dinner or just have a drink with friends.

It's a blend of Spanish and Mayan cultures that's reflected in its food, people and landscape. The climate is mild year-round with an average temperature of 24C (75F). In the highlands it can get cold at night while on the coast it tends to be hot during the day but cools down at night. The food here is delicious! You'll find everything from tacos to tamales served up fresh every day with lots of spicy sauces on top--perfect for satisfying your appetite after hiking one of Guatemala's volcanoes or exploring its rainforest!
